    Communication (external)

One important point brought up by two of our members (Juan Carlos and Maria Alicia Magana - original posts) is about the role of the CCM with the mass media in-country.

    Q. Should CCMs build a public image of "expertise" so that the profile of grant activities is raised among the public at large?

Suggestions: your answers could include (but not be limited to), activities and messages that your CCM has generated; the relationship with mass media, if any; and others.

My opinion to the above question is “Yes’ and ‘No’. ‘Yes’ because there is the need to build a good public image demonstrating professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness No because the CCM should collaborate and work closely with the media in performing their core functions and also demonstrates transparency. The media plays a crucial role in the oversight function of the CCM. They are partners in information dissemination as well as gathering. In addition, they are good whistle blowers. A bridge between the two options will be the best
