The potential for contributions from buisnesses and foundations to the global fund is great, as long as the process of access to the fund is made more transparent to the private sector.
Systems should be streamlined especially in the bigest beneficiaries like the sub-sahara Africa. Governments have adopted the attitude of treating accessibility to the fund as a govenment affair. The private sector and Civil Sociaty have to play a more active role than being watchdogs and whisle blowers, to actual planning monitoring, evaluation and implementation.
This will attract more contributions from the private sector.
