I D.S.Ambrose aged 47 have some educational background and some experience in doing service for the underprivileged in the society.

After my Post-Graduation and Research in Economics I have started my career as Lecturer in a reputed college in Chennai city (run by Jesuit preists), apart from this I served as Professor of Economis in University of Madras for Correspondence Course. In the meantime I did my M.Sc. in Psychology.

By March 1989 I have formed a Voluntary organisation called Society for Social Education and Development (SAMUGAM), and it was formally registed by April 1989. This was registered under Income Tax Act U/Ss. 12AA,80G,PAN and Registered under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act - Govt. of India. Since 1989 under this organisation our team concentrates on Social, Educational, Health (Family Welfare, HIV/AIDS prevention and control, treatment, De-addiction-prevention, control and rehabilitation, TB control). Our activities so far are:1.      Education of the rural and urban illiterate masses,2.      Training for women groups-awareness building, entrepreneurship, leadership ,3.      Training for youth groups-awareness building, leadership,4.      Help to take up income generation programs ,5.      Entrepreneur Development Training,6.      Skill formation training-in tailoring and cottage industry,7.     Programs for the school going and drop out children,8.      HIV/AIDS, Drug Abuse - Awareness, Prevention & Control programs ,9.      Medical camps and Health Education,10. Counseling and Referral services,11. Employment Placement services,12. Technical Trainings, Typewriting, Computer Education for educated youth.Apart from our registered office, we have two branches of our organization functioning at:1.Vazhavachanur & Post, Tiruvannamalai Dt. 606753, and 2. Irudayampattu & post, Villupuram Dt. 605 702. Our expenditure have crossed more than 5 crores of Rupees.

With regard to financial, techincal and other assistance for our programmes we got some Govt. funds and one grant from Netherlands through an intermediary. The foreign aid was controlled by an Indian lady. She was helpin us till she got FCRA for her trust, as soon she got the FCRA, she had stopped the grant and she utilised the grant as she likes. Here I don't want to blame anybody, because some people act what they are thinking, here they doesn't mind about the policy and programmes.

Next, about the efforts taken by us: we have applied for number of projects and sent so may proposals to many donors, some of the made agreement with us for assisting our projects, but they didn't assist for our projects. I don't know what has happened behind the screen.Now we have stopped apllying and sending proposals. And decided if any donor is interested and really want to do some service, according to their interest we go ahead to do some service for the needy people. So far more than 3 lakh people are benefitted by our restless effort, service for the people of Tamil Nadu State.

Based on our sincere service some foreigners used to visit our office and our area of operation, they too write a book and some articles about our activities. One Mr.Glissnar fro Netherlands and his team people visiting our organisation every year. They are not donors.

To do some  worwhile service certainly there is need of some assistance of any kind. We look people like to give some guidance to strengthen our service and do it in a better way.
