    The Global Fund's revolutionary approach to development - using the CCM model that requires different sectors of society within a country mobilize themselves in requesting and implementing grants - has galvanized efforts within countries, but also brought challenges on issues of governance. In a special issue dedicated to CCM Governance of the Global Fund Observer newsletter (issue # 78, 24 october 2007, Aidspan has drawn up a Terms of Reference that describes the roles, responsibilities, core principles, structure and operating methods of the CCM. The objective is to offer guidance to CCMs coursing the challenges that governing a multi-stakeholder body can present. [ Read more: Full text article  also available in PDF format ]

    CCM Governance

    CCM governance and decision-makingCCMs are responsible for developing their own organizational structure and decision-making processes. The CCM members representing the non-governmental sectors are selected by the sectors themselves, based on a process that is inclusive, transparent, documented and developed within the sector.

    Q. How are decisions on the allocation of seats to various sectors made in your CCM? What do you think could improve this process in order to have a more balanced representation of different constituencies?

    Suggestions: your answers could include (but not be limited to), how your CCM has ensured a broad representation of stakeholders through these processes; and others.
