Comment regarding Selection Process for GFATM
    *********************

One question, why is it only ICW, GNP+, and ICASO (see message from
ICASO below) who will choose three representatives each for this process?

Why not consider, having one representative from each of three
"Co-Sponsors" and one from other distinguished activist groups with a track record, such as but not limited to TAC, Thai Activists, lawyers collective of India, Health Gap, European Treatment Access Group, MSF, AIDSeti etc.

There are many activists groups world wide whose positions do not always coincide with the three co-sponsors. Of course they should also be involved, but why three from each of them?

One could also choose one outstanding national PLWA group from Africa,
Asia, South America and the Caribbean, as well as Europe and the US,
And create a much more meaningful and inclusive process to choose Board Members from Civil Society.

    Sincerely,
    Richard

Selection committee of the Global Fund Board

    Dear Richard,

This year, the NGO delegations decided to form a joint Selection Committee of 3 representatives nominated by each delegation (total 9). Now we are in the process of establishing the Selection Committee. Once it is established the names of the Committee members will be announced.

Thank you very much for your interest.

    Sincerely,
