[Moderators Note: Manop Yangja and Bob McCormick write in response to the joint media release announcing that, although we have not achieved the lofty goals of the 3x5 campaign, 700,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in developing countries are now receiving ART treatment. You can view the press release in its entirety by clicking here: http://eforums.healthdev.org/read/messages?id=3997. We invite members to continue to share their opinion on the announcement.

I am glad that Global Fund reached 700,000 of people living with HIV/AIDS
but I was wondering how many of [those reached] are marginalized or unprivileged people. I am working in Northern Thailand where there are many people of ethnic minority living in very remote areas, and currently not receiving any [ART] treatment .Not many organization want to work in these parts as they are remote and difficult to reach. Also, organizations in these areas do not seem to be able to access money from funding organizations due to capacity constraints and limited skills.
I come from an ethnic minority myself and I have been working in these parts for over a decade. Last year, we tried to apply for a grant from the Global Fund in conjunction with an organization called Inter Faith last year but it was rejected. Would any member know of where we might apply for funding? Thank you very much for any information or assistance you could send me.
Respectfully,

It would be very interesting to see the treatment figures for South Africa, a number very much in dispute.
