There would not have been a better way to make information readily available. This will help to ensure that everybody understands how the CCM component of the Global Fund functions. It will also encourage transparency and accountability. Like was rightly said, the dynamics and mechanics are already becoming confusing. Understanding the dynamics and mechanics will really help those of us that really want to contribute to the CCMs of our countries to give our very best. What else can I say to the Facilitation team? More power to your elbow(s)!!

The CCM Forum is now open!

Welcome to the CCM Forum, the first online discussion of its kind specifically focusing on issues relating to Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCMs).

New to many countries and cultures, the CCM dynamics and mechanics of transparent and participatory programming can be confusing, complex, and challenging, but also exhilarating and socially transformative. The CCMs are a central piece of the Global Fund architecture embodying the principle of country-driven processes. They are responsible for

    • coordinating the submission of grant proposals including requests for continued funding,
    • selecting Principal Recipients
    • providing oversight on all Global Fund grants and
    • ensuring that there are linkages and consistency at the country level between Global Fund assistance and other development and health assistance programs ,

Over the next few months, discussions on a number of key CCM themes and weekly sub-themes will be developed and introduced by our facilitation team. A Topic Suggestions forum will also remain open to collect ideas on possible topics to be discussed in the CCM Forum.

Please join now and participate in either one of four languages: English, French, Spanish and Russian.

Thank you for your commitment to the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and for your interest in the issues that affect Country Coordinating Mechanisms, The Global Fund and its stakeholders.

We look forward to your contributions.

    The Facilitation Team
